In this role, you will combine electrical design with hands-on testing, validation, and the development of automated test equipment. Working closely with global R&D teams, you will play a key role in bringing new technologies from concept to reality, ensuring they are robust, reliable, and ready for demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using eCAD tools (e.g., EPLAN).
  • Contribute to the development of electrical architectures for robotic tool changers.
  • Collaborate with global R&D teams during product development.
  • Engage in design reviews, risk assessments, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Address safety requirements by aligning with Performance Level (PL) and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and performance reports.
  • Define comprehensive test plans and test cases, covering functional, electrical, safety, and failure scenarios.
  • Design and build innovative test bench setups with capabilities for power, load simulation, and signal emulation.
  • Integrate measurement and Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment into automated test benches.
  • Develop automated test sequences to ensure repeatability and scalability of test processes.
  • Implement effective data logging and monitoring concepts.
  • Analyze data trends and failures, producing insightful reports for further validation.
  • Integrate systems with PLCs, robotics, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, software, and mechatronic system issues.
  • Perform root cause analyses for failures.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with electrical design and automation is preferred.

Skills

  • Competency in using eCAD tools like EPLAN.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial communication protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT, IO-Link, etc.).
  • Experience with Python for test automation is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Hands-on approach for technical challenges.
  • Team collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a global setup.
  • Strategic and structured working style.

Additional Information

This position will report to the Duncan, SC office. Occasional travel may be required to project sites across international locations (up to 15%).
