Responsibilities
- Maintain completeness and accuracy of the electrical pre-assignment database by integrating data from updated layouts, new supplier documentation, and facilities installations.
- Analyze changes to point of connection (POC) locations and load capacity impacts, applying NEC code requirements and standards for system integrity and protective device coordination.
- Cook up with project teams to align electrical POC and capacity needs with phased installation schedules, flagging and escalating gaps or inconsistencies to discipline leads in a timely manner.
- Review equipment datasheets, vendor submittals, and shop drawings to validate electrical requirements and update pre-assignment data accordingly in AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to assess the impact of tool scope changes on electrical distribution systems, ensuring seamless integration from pre-design through construction administration.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination meetings with PMs, contractors, suppliers, and field engineers to support risk mitigation strategies and manage change control processes within the electrical discipline.
- Conduct QA/QC checks of electrical documentation and pre-assignment entries to confirm adherence to all applicable regulatory codes and project-specific standards.
- Maintain documentation and change logs to support traceability and audit readiness in adherence to internal quality management systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the pre-assignment database workflows and increase cross-discipline collaboration efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical drafting and Bluebeam for document review and markup workflows.
- Familiarity with electrical load calculations, single-line diagram interpretation, and point-of-connection analysis.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in A&E or industrial engineering design environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach to data management, QA/QC processes, and change control documentation.
Pay
Salary Range: $68,000 - $90,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications.
