Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Planning Yard team supports the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), the planning and maintenance of the new Ship to Shore Connector (SSC), and the configuration and engineering management of the new Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1700.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise installation and alteration drawings for the LCU 1700 program to support availabilities, Craft Change Documents (CCDs), and Liaison Action Requests (LARs).
• Edit new and revised technical manuals.
• Review and/or develop design changes and their incorporation in engineering drawings and schematics.
• Create, revise, and review Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Reports (TMDERs).
• Maintain a 3-D CAD ShipConstructor model database for the LCU 1700 class.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and review of new component designs.
• Travel to shipyards and perform on-site craft inspections to verify craft configuration and currency with documentation.
• Maintain workload and respond to tasking within the schedule and technical requirements identified in the Integrated Data Environment (IDE).
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD clearance upon employment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, methods, and techniques
• Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software
• Effective organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in small spaces when conducting inspections on the craft.

Skills

• Prior experience working in engineering in the Navy or Marine Industry
• Knowledge and experience SolidWorks or ShipConstructor 3D modeling program
