About the role
This posting is for one position, which will be filled at the level (Engineer or Senior Engineer) commensurate with the successful candidate's experience and skill level.
Responsibilities
- Root cause analysis and problem solving
- Equipment condition assessment (vibration, oil analysis, etc.)
- Equipment specification development and review
- Troubleshooting of electrical systems and programmable logic controllers
- Management of station breaker monitoring program
- Review and issuing Digging, Drilling or Cutting Permits
- Oversight and interaction with contractors and consultants
- Performing capital project review
- Performing generator and equipment inspections
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering (engineering technology degrees are not acceptable for this position)
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of business/financial and contractual matters
- Skilled in advanced techniques and modification of theories, precepts, and practices
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead
- Strong personal computer skills
- In-depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills (includes technical writing)
- Knowledge of plant electrical distribution equipment, generator equipment, relay and motor control systems, battery and uninterruptible power systems, SF6 breakers, and frequency converter
- Ability to analyze complex problems and provide solutions (demonstrated results)
- Able to interpret codes, regulations and practices
- Able to work safely in a plant environment including confined spaces, around water, at elevated heights, and in underground tunnels
