About the Role
Works directly with Santee Cooper's direct-serve commercial customers under instruction and direction from others. Collaborates with the team to promote and implement Santee Cooper's energy efficiency and customer service programs. Assists in various commercial energy services, including energy assessments, energy audits, high bill analyses, and rate analyses. Provides technical support to commercial customers and the Commercial Energy Services group while promoting environmental stewardship and adhering to safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Works with the team to implement Santee Cooper's energy efficiency and customer service programs, handling straightforward projects independently.
- Develops a working knowledge of energy efficiency programs and enters project data into the tracking system.
- Assists in physically inspecting customer locations before or after energy efficiency projects to ensure program integrity.
- Provides technical support for energy efficiency projects and accompanies team members during customer meetings.
- Performs energy services such as energy assessments, energy audits, rate analyses, billing estimates, interval mesh network metering, and high bill analyses, with guidance from the team.
- Supports program managers or primary responsible persons for Demand-Side Management (DSM) programs, including Small Business Energy Saver, Standby Lease Generator, EVolve Grant, EV initiatives, Solar Share, Demand Response, or future programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/BET accredited university or college.
- Familiarity with commercial systems (HVAC, lighting, refrigeration) and commercial building envelope preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including preparing and interpreting large datasets (e.g., meter interval data and billed usage data) to derive actionable insights preferred.
Qualifications by Level
- Engineer I: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Engineer II: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering + 2 years of experience. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license preferred.
- Engineer III: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering + 5 years of experience. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license required. Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Senior Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering + 8 years of experience. Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
Pay
- Engineer I: $75,500 - $94,350 (min. - mid.)
- Engineer II: $84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)
- Engineer III: $93,830 - $117,290 (min. - mid.)
- Senior Engineer: $104,620 - $130,770 (min. - mid.)
