About the role

Qualis LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide instrumentation and modification advice and assistance in support of designing, implementing, installing, and maintaining instrumentation. This role involves defining instrumentation requirements for tests, assessing utility relative to analysis needs, and ensuring instrumentation packages meet data collection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis for test data requirements of systems under test.
  • Determine the most suitable methods for measuring required phenomena, including designing sensor configurations, data systems, and camera installations.
  • Arrange for the fabrication of special devices and prepare modification proposal packages.
  • Ensure planned modifications are technically correct and prepare technical procedures/directives for proper instrumentation system operation.
  • Research local supply sources for subsystems and components, and prepare letters of instruction for engineering/fabrication support.
  • Advise on commercially available items and coordinate/monitor system hardware preparation for timely, integrated functionality.
  • Install test instrumentation systems on aircraft and weapon systems, monitoring progress for quality, compliance, and adherence to schedules.
  • Review airborne instrumentation systems, technical plans, and documentation for technical adequacy and coordination.
  • Manage and deconflict onboard systems/subsystems required for flight operations.
  • Provide technical advice on electronic systems to project personnel and inputs for cost estimates.
  • Support integration of avionics systems on weapons systems.
  • Attend test planning meetings and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) to define instrumentation and data acquisition system development.
  • Provide technical advice for conducting EO/IR defensive systems tests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Secret DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aircraft systems, avionics, or aerospace-related electrical engineering projects.
  • Prior experience in aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, modification, or flight test environments.
