Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Support & Analysis: Assist senior engineers in performing interconnection studies and loadflow analyses for DER applications.
- Queue Analysis Assistance: Support the evaluation of DER applications against technical interconnection requirements to help determine queue positions and necessary grid upgrades.
- Scoping & Estimating: Draft initial distribution scopes of work for DER upgrade projects and assist in compiling cost estimates.
- QA/QC & Documentation Support: Assist in reviewing technical designs and help draft reference materials, process flow diagrams, and training documentation for interconnection activities.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between internal utility departments and external developers to gather data and track application progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, utility distribution design, or power systems (recent graduates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply).
- Foundational knowledge of electrical power systems and Distributed Energy Resources (solar, battery storage).
- Familiarity with or academic exposure to power flow analysis software (e.g., CYME, Synergi, Milsoft).
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take direction from Senior/Principal engineering staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of distribution design standards and NESC codes.
