Electrical Engineer

Peter Basso Associates is a leading MEP Engineering consulting firm seeking talented professional engineers to join their team. The company is a 100% employee-owned ESOP corporation known for its collaborative culture and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Join project teams working with top architects, contractors, and facility owners across diverse markets such as education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi-family, and mixed-use.
• Apply creative solutions to complex challenges and contribute to projects from concept through construction.
• Engineer and design electrical building systems specifically focused in one or all of these areas:
• Power Distribution Systems, including medium and low voltage distribution systems, standby power applications, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash hazard.
• Loading Calculation
• Short Circuit Analysis
• Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
• Standby Power Applications
• Lighting Systems, including calculations, lighting controls, luminaire selections and architecturally integrated lighting systems.
• Auxiliary Systems, including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling systems, access control, CCTV and other low voltage systems design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an engineering-related curriculum from a US accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical commercial building system design.
• Having passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam, PE preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Thorough understanding of the coordination aspects of all design disciplines and impact on the project.
• Team-oriented problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
