About the role
As the lead electrical engineer for operation projects, you will design, specify, and oversee electrical systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Complete specifications for quoting and requisitioning electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, variable frequency drives, MCCs, and fuse contactors.
- Perform short-circuit, arc flash, and relay studies.
- Design and modify power distribution systems for both new and existing installations.
- Review and approve one-line diagrams and system functionality.
- Review and approve electrical construction and design packages.
- Manage and implement execution across multiple organizations.
- Ensure plant design safety, conformance to standards, and constructability.
- Make informed technical decisions based on viability, safety, cost, risks, and benefits.
- Develop innovative solutions to solve difficult problems and anticipate contingencies.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of standards, guidelines, safety, operability, best practices, and industry standards.
- Serve as a consultant to others, providing technical information and engineering recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- More than seven (7) years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Society of Automation (ISA), IEEE Standards, and International Codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes, and other discipline-specific software applications.
- Experience with arc flash studies and SKM software.
- Field commissioning and start-up experience for electrical equipment.
- Experience developing relay settings based on coordination studies.
- Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with SmartPlant preferred.
- Base knowledge of electrical construction methodologies and processes.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support project tasks and construction.

Pay
Salary pay range: 100,000 USD – 125,000 USD.
