About the role
HDR is seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in the Indianapolis office. Our team is looking for a candidate to design data centers for the top technology companies in the world. This person will have the opportunity to partner within our other market sectors including but not limited to Water/Wastewater, Federal, Industrial, and Commercial projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide detailed design and coordination of facilities with team members
- Prepare construction documents with BIM/CADD platforms
- Edit and prepare design specifications
- Review fee estimates and cost opinions and write technical documents
- Perform QA/QC review of construction documents and technical reports
- Select equipment using vendor software and communicate with sales reps
- Track and meet design budgets
- Perform load calculations
- Attend and lead design meetings with other team members
- Provide construction administration services throughout all phases of construction
- Visit Project Sites as requested or as contractually required to monitor construction progress and prepare field observation reports
- Perform field work and verification of existing conditions where required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
