Electrical Engineer
About the role
In the role of Electrical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Cook up work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
- Set up meetings and join in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Divvy up the workload to finish the document on time.
- Host work sessions at the project site alongside the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Inspect electrical documents for spots where they clash with all disciplines.
- Write and edit electrical specifications and pick out equipment, electrical systems, and devices.
- Collaborate with and assist other disciplines with addendums, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, and be responsible for incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
- Handle construction contract administration as needed.
- Check Quality Assurance/Quality Control on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians.
- Do other duties as needed.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
