Electrical Engineer

About the role

In the role of Electrical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Cook up work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
• Set up meetings and join in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Divvy up the workload to finish the document on time.
• Host work sessions at the project site alongside the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Inspect electrical documents for spots where they clash with all disciplines.
• Write and edit electrical specifications and pick out equipment, electrical systems, and devices.
• Collaborate with and assist other disciplines with addendums, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, and be responsible for incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
• Handle construction contract administration as needed.
• Check Quality Assurance/Quality Control on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians.
• Do other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
