Electrical Engineer
About the role
This Electrical Engineer will assess existing facilities and develop electrical designs for various Garver Buildings projects. Responsibilities include investigating, planning, designing, and commissioning electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and plan electrical systems for existing facilities
- Develop detailed plans and specifications for building projects
- Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices
- Assist project managers in project management
- Follow quality assurance and quality control plans
- Travel to project locations as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited university or college
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- 5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experience
- Proven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
- Tech competence in building electrical systems including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and telecommunications systems
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite

- Worked as an engineer sub-consultant to architectural building design firms
