About the role
This Electrical Engineer will assess existing facilities and develop electrical designs in support of various Buildings projects.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, plan, design, and commission existing facilities components and systems
- Develop electrical designs for facility electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems
- Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices
- Assist project managers in project management
- Follow quality assurance and quality control plans
- Manage multiple assignments concurrently
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date project accounting
- Perform electrical related calculations
- Utilize Microsoft Excel-based calculation tools for design calculations
- Communicate with and interact with building owner representatives and architectural clients
- Participate in client relations and project pursuits
- Manage time and ensure product quality
- Utilize CAD and BIM design software to produce construction drawings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited university or college
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- 5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experience
- Proven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projects
- Techically competent in building electrical systems including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and telecommunications systems
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
