Responsibilities
- Evaluate and design electrical systems, by selecting products, components, and materials to meet the application and customer requirements.
- Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing procedures.
- Support Customer system testing, Witness testing.
- Develops solutions to support product sales by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from the manufacturing floor.
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; coordination with quality department and quality systems (ISO).
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests; Sales and Customer direct support, Warranty and Field Service support.
- Maintains product and company reputation by insuring compliance with State and Local regulations and the National Electric Code (NEC).
- PLC programing knowledge and Interface with building management systems and communications equipment
- Create and Maintain product data base to support product engineering and sales departments.
- Participate in training development projects for shop floor personnel and guiding field technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
- Experience with circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers, disconnects, distribution panels, and AC/DC wiring.
- Strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Proficiency in PLC programming and interface with building management systems and communications equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot components.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
