The Electrical Engineer works closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product and supports daily production activities. This is a managerial position, which would include the daily supervision of plant electricians and electronic technicians as well as the management of plant construction, modifications, appropriations and equipment installation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant settings
- Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles
- Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action
- Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
- Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
- Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
- Supports and encourages employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: Approximately 10% overnight travel, Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support, Knowledge of control systems and sub-systems, Knowledge of building facilities (compressed air, water, hydraulics, vacuums, heating and cooling), Facility power distribution to include voltage up to 4160v, three-phase, Instrumentation and calibration knowledge, Process control systems – set-up and program applications (Honeywell), Ability to design, modify and plot using AutoCAD software, Installation, set-up and programming of PLC’s (Allen-Bradley), Working knowledge of motor controls, VFD’s, DC drives, Eddy Current Systems and/or Modicon system design, At least three years of proven supervisory experience, Five to seven years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment, Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience plus an Associate’s degree
- Preferred Requirements: Green or black belt certification in Six Sigma, Electrical Journeyman’s certification, Packaging industry experience

- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of various Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc.), Excellent oral and written communication skills, Excellent time management and project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task, Demonstrated employee relations skills and the ability to motivate people, Effective leadership skills such as conflict resolution, communication, decision making, etc., Must be able to look at new solutions and "think outside the box", Strong problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- The associate will be exposed to power sources
- Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting
- The noise level is frequently loud
- The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
Compensation and Benefits
- $86,761.00 to $137,929.00 per year
