About the role
As an Electrical Engineer at TAS Energy, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing the electrical scope within TAS’s modular components and systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and production staff, to ensure the seamless integration of modular solutions into our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative modular components and systems for manufacturing processes, considering factors such as functionality, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
- Act as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data center/modular skid design projects to ensure technical excellence.
- Make decisions on engineering challenges, practices, and methods, crafting innovative design solutions.
- Responsible for the design of the whole electrical system including: one-line diagram, point-to-point schematic, and compiling bill of materials for all the electrical systems and components.
- Provide expert advisory services on the projects. Actively participate in meetings and conferences, representing TAS, engaging in discussions on critical electrical issues, and aligning technical strategies.
- Work closely with the Design team who will utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of modular components, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
- Responsible for sizing, selection, and purchase assistance: switch-gear, starter, VFDs, MCCs, conduit and conductors, transformers, motor operated equipment (pumps, compressors), and control systems.
- Generate comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions, to support the manufacturing and assembly of modular components.
- Provide technical support and expertise to production teams during the manufacturing, assembly, and installation of modular components, resolving design-related issues as needed.
- Interface with cross-functional teams: Project Engineers, Project Managers, Mechanical and Controls Engineers, Procurement, and with Service Engineers/Technicians.
- Support Production teams in resolving issues during fabrication & assembly.
- Supports First of a Kind quality Inspections for Electrical Equipments at vendor sites or at TAS facilities.
- Compiles all electrical O&M information, transmits critical O&M information during the design phase of the project. Assists in compilation of the final sets of IOM manuals.
- Afford assistance in bid tabs and proposal development as assigned by TAS.
Qualifications
- Prepare and review technical specifications to support project development.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques, with a focus on modular construction methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into practical, manufacturable designs.
- Estimating and bid tabulation experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with analysis of compliance with NEC, IEC, NFPA and other relevant codes.
- Ability to provide electrical calculations such as fault analysis.
- Maintain knowledge about current trends in codes, equipment, vendors.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement in modular manufacturing practices.
