About the role
Electrical Engineers will interface with all mill business units. The engineer will manage and support capital, maintenance, and mill electrical controls and instrumentation including PLC, AC/DC drives, and motor control.
Responsibilities
- Build effective project teams and align objectives with business goals.
- Provide engineering leadership and expertise to accomplish technical alternative reviews, develop sound proposals, implementation, and startup of projects.
- Coordinate construction resources to efficiently implement and startup projects.
- Manage multiple projects from conception through completion.
- Provide direction and oversight to contract engineering.
- Provide engineering and technical support to mill operations and maintenance.
- Be an advocate of national and local codes, mill specifications, and documentation systems.
- Become a mill expert in the area of electrical controls and instrumentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field.
- 7+ years of experience as an electrical engineer.
- Proven history in project development, execution, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, lead change, and drive improvement.
- Familiarity with multiple disciplines: Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and MS Project.
- Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Industrial/Construction work experience.
- Technical expertise in the area of electrical controls and instrumentation.
- Experience with RSLogix 5000 PLC programming, motor control, and AC/DC drives.
- Project management experience.
