Electrical Engineer

About the role

Battelle is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Oxnard, CA. This position involves maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting existing electrical systems, as well as supporting the design and integration of new systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, test, and troubleshoot existing electrical/embedded systems as part of an integrated technical team.
• Maintain, test, and troubleshoot existing electrical/embedded systems independently with minimal oversight.
• Work closely with Battelle engineers in Columbus, OH to design, fabricate, and integrate new electrical/embedded systems.
• Work closely with onsite clients and associate contractors to define system requirements and integrate systems.
• Generate and interpret electrical schematics.
• Generate and follow installation and testing procedures within a stringent client quality assurance system.
• Occasionally work temporary assignments outside the Oxnard, CA area up to 120 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 2-5 years of experience or master’s degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Level 5 Top Secret (TS) clearance.
• Physically fit to accomplish required tasking including working from ladders and in confined spaces.
• Solid grasp of basic electrical engineering concepts and ability to learn.
• Experience with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
• Experience with computer languages/programs such as C, Matlab, Word, Excel, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently holds or have held a Level 5 TS Clearance in the last five years.
• Additional work experience in the electrical engineering field.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering design tools and methods.
• Experience generating and interpreting engineering schematics.
• Experience working in a lab environment, including preparing, conducting, and documenting tests, soldering, and wiring.
• Signal processing experience, both software and hardware based.
• Experience with programming in additional languages.

Pay

$100,000-120,000
