Entry-Level to Senior Industrial Electrical Engineering Opportunities

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00AM–4:30PM | Full-time hours on-site

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we design and manufacture custom crane, hoist, and industrial control systems used in demanding industries including nuclear, aerospace, defense, and heavy manufacturing.
We are currently hiring Electrical Engineers at multiple experience levels ranging from early-career engineers to highly experienced senior engineers.
What This Role Really Is
This is a hands-on industrial electrical engineering role focused on electrical design, industrial controls, troubleshooting, and practical engineering problem solving tied directly to manufacturing and field performance.
Depending on experience level, responsibilities may range from supporting engineering projects under mentorship to independently leading electrical design scope on highly customized industrial systems.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
- Entry-Level Engineers: Learn ACECO engineering standards, workflows, and systems
- Support electrical schematics, documentation, and engineering reviews
- Build familiarity with industrial electrical systems and controls
- Develop working relationships across Engineering and Manufacturing
- Mid-Level & Senior Engineers: Contribute independently to electrical design and troubleshooting activities
- Support cross-functional engineering and manufacturing problem solving
- Become responsible for electrical scope on assigned projects
- Mentor less experienced engineers where applicable
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program required
- Master’s degree is a plus but not required
- Experience: Entry-level through 10+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience considered
- Experience with industrial controls, power systems, or heavy industrial equipment preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
Technical Skills
- Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, industrial controls, and power systems
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and industrial electrical design principles
- Exposure to NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, ASME, or related codes preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools
- PLC, VFD, automation, or troubleshooting experience is a plus

Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomized drug screens during employment
- Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
- Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in shop or manufacturing areas
- Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Additional Requirements
- Ability to work full-time, on-site Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM
- Certain projects may require the ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities in compliance with NRC regulations (10 C.F.R. Parts 26 & 73)
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments while following all safety requirements
- Willingness to perform tasks requiring unescorted access to nuclear facilities in compliance with NRC regulations (10 C.F.R. Parts 26 & 73)
- Ability to maintain professional conduct aligned with company values and expectations
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based engineering role
- Regular collaboration with manufacturing and field service teams
- Occasional exposure to shop environments, electrical equipment, and industrial conditions
- Required use of PPE when in manufacturing or testing areas
