Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret electrical hardware requirement specifications
- Develop and document electrical system requirements
- Conduct concept trade studies and evaluate design options
- Write and execute test procedures to verify and validate electrical designs and ensure requirements are met
- Prepare and present design progress, approach, and rationale to design review boards
- Avoid hardware designs meeting size, weight, power, and cost budgets
- Author, update, and maintain hardware specifications throughout the project lifecycle
- Define and baseline electrical interfaces to support system integration
- Perform and/or review electrical analyses
- Prepare, review, and release electrical drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project schedules
- Author detailed assembly procedures to ensure hardware is built to specifications
- Execute procurement, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of electrical hardware to meet project milestones and quality standards
- Contribute to safety documentation and present to safety review boards as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, systems, and quality engineers, to support project success
- Support occasional evening or weekend work as needed to meet project deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident Green Card holder
- Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government background check
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Experience in an electrical engineering role designing printed circuit board electronics
- Proficiency with circuit design and analysis software, such as Altium, for designing electrical systems and circuit boards
- Experience using laboratory equipment to verify and troubleshoot electrical system performance, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and digital multimeters
- Ability to perform engineering calculations for electrical circuits
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Sound engineering judgment
- Highly dependable, self-motivated, and accountable
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing, procuring, manufacturing, and testing hardware for extreme environments, including space, high-temperature, or high-vibration conditions
- Proficient experience using Altium for PCB design, especially systems with embedded processors
- Experience developing software to test PCB functionality
- Experience with power system design, including DC-DC converter design and implementation of DC-DC converters and linear regulators
- Experience with digital measurement of analog sensors, including signal conditioning with passive components and operational amplifiers, ADC selection, and ADC interfacing
Compensation
Expected salary range is $100,000-$130,000 annually. Final compensation is based on education, experience, and directly relevant qualifications.
