Electrical Engineer
About the role
As an Electrical Designer/Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of control panel solutions across diverse applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality control panels that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control panel solutions for a wide range of industrial applications, adhering to client requirements and industry standards.
- Generate accurate and comprehensive bills of materials (BOMs) based on design specifications, ensuring the availability and compatibility of all components.
- Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) to depict the electrical connections and layout of control panels.
- Perform relevant power calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit calculations to ensure proper electrical design and safety.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients, to gather requirements, share progress, and address design challenges.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure that designs align with project goals, specifications, and industry best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to continuously improve design processes and ensure compliance.
- Contribute to the optimization of control panel designs, focusing on factors such as cost-efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
- Support the procurement team by providing technical guidance on component selection and vendor relationships.
- Provide technical assistance during the manufacturing and assembly phases, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring the accurate implementation of designs.
- Perform designs and engineering in accordance to job specifications and governing code bodies such as UL508a, UL67, UL891, NEC, and more.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or an associate's degree with 2 years of electrical design experience).
- Proven experience (2+ years) in control panel design for various industrial systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, controls, and relevant calculations.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL) and regulations related to control panel design and electrical systems.
- Experience creating electrical schematics and designing industrial control panels.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AutoCAD Electrical experience is a plus.
- PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming experience is a plus.
- Experience doing electrical design of pump stations is a plus.
- Must be a team player and willing to perform tasks that may not be in a particular job description, take initiative when appropriate, and be open to constructive criticism.
Work Environment
The position operates in an office environment with no travel required. Work hours are Monday to Friday with flexible start times between 6am and 9am. Occasionally, there may be a need to spend time on the manufacturing floor collaborating with machine operators and assembly groups on projects.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
