About the role

BAE Systems seeks an Interior Communications and Alarms Technician to join the AEGIS Test Team in Pascagoula, MS, supporting US Navy PAE Mission Systems AEGIS Ship Integration and Test. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, and testing of Interior Communications systems aboard US Navy ships, with preferred 1MC experience. The technician will work directly with shipbuilders, contractors, and Navy personnel to ensure accurate installation of IC and alarm systems, perform electrical circuit testing, and may travel short periods to support availabilities or assist other locations. Prior US Navy or shipbuilder experience is required, and the candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment with various contractor, government, and Navy personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and test Interior Communications systems aboard US Navy ships.
  • Test and troubleshoot shipboard electrical issues.
  • Collaborate with shipbuilder, contractors, and US Navy personnel to ensure accurate installation of IC and alarm systems.
  • Perform and/or witness electrical circuit testing.
  • Test witness and/or test electrical circuits and alarm systems.
  • Travel short periods to support ongoing availabilities or assist at other locations.
  • Work in a team environment with contractor, government, and US Navy personnel.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret official US Navy drawings and publications.
  • Former US Navy or shipbuilding experience.
  • Ability to perform and/or witness electrical circuit testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Professional, especially Excel.
  • Prior experience in test witnessing electrical circuits.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the 1MC system and circuitry (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to test witness electrical circuits.
  • Familiarity with alarm systems.
