Electrical EIT/Coordinator

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. From high-performance data centers driving the future of AI to dynamic commercial environments, your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience. This position is an integral part of the industrial and commercial facilities team in our Denver, Colorado office.

The primary role of the Electrical Engineer EIT/Coordinator is to perform electrical engineering and design assignments under the guidance and mentorship of senior staff electrical engineers. Project assignments may include healthcare, higher education, renewable energy systems, water/wastewater, mining, oil & gas, data center/mission-critical, industrial, and institutional campus facilities.

Detailed electrical design is the primary focus, with cross-training in Instrumentation & Controls/Automation. Project assignments are expected to be primarily in the Colorado/Rocky Mountain area, although occasional short-term travel (typically 1-5 days) or infrequent longer-term assignments (several weeks) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical diagrams, cable and panel schedules, electrical site plans, facility electrical power and lighting plans, schematic control diagrams, and electrical equipment and materials specifications.
• Perform detailed system calculations, drawing production, and project specification editing using standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Conduct field investigations and condition assessments, make construction observations, and assist in startup and commissioning of new and modified systems.
• Participate in portions of the engineering work for a major project or several smaller but complex projects within the electrical discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain professional registration.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm.
• Healthcare or higher education project experience.
• Experience with electrical devices and circuits, control schematics, electrical diagrams, and electrical systems theory.
• EIT certification (Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression).
• Candidates living near the Denver, Colorado area are preferred.

Pay

Colorado: $69,608.00 - $99,440.00 (depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location).
