Electrical Drafter/Designer

Garner & Associates Engineering has an opening in our Montgomery and/or Tuscaloosa, Alabama offices.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineer on designing power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems including safety and security, audio/visual, intercom, PA, etc.
• Create detailed designs with AutoCAD and REVIT software.
• Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations, codes, and quality standards.
• Local job site travel as needed per project.
• Gather drawings and specifications, calculate material and equipment requirements, and produce drawings.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and REVIT software.
• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role.
• Good math skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently in an organized manner, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
• BS in Engineering or degree from a technical college.
