Electrical Designer/Senior Electrical Engineer

Mazzetti's Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Consulting Engineering Practice is dedicated to designing high performance, resilience, and sustainable solutions for the built environment, with a keen focus on Healthcare and Infrastructure projects. Core Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for healthcare, medical office building (MOB), data center, and other complex commercial projects.
Perform electrical system design, engineering calculations, and system studies.
Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
Develop layouts for electrical equipment, power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and related building systems.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and Mazzetti quality expectations.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients throughout project lifecycles.
Participate in project planning, scheduling, scope development, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
Support client meetings, technical presentations, proposals, and project pursuits as appropriate.
Provide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving technical issues during construction.
Perform quality control reviews of electrical drawings and specifications throughout project delivery.
Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Mazzetti offices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and engineers, commensurate with experience.
Contribute to continuous improvement, technical knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
Work Location
This is a hybrid position based in the Atlanta, GA area, involving primarily working from home, client site visits throughout Georgia, and occasional presence in our Atlanta office as needed for project collaboration and team-building activities.
Travel Requirements
Approximately 10–15% travel, primarily within the Atlanta market and Southeast region based on project assignments.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
6+ years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience within the AEC consulting industry.
Minimum two years of experience designing healthcare, hospital, medical office building (MOB), data center, or other mission-critical facilities.
Experience developing construction documents for complex building electrical systems.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors, and design partners.
Experience supporting project pursuits, proposals, and client presentations is preferred.

Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and building electrical systems.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and healthcare design requirements.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and/or SKM.
Experience preparing and reviewing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables.
Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Licenses & Certifications
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
