About the role
Meade is looking for an experienced Electrical Designer I to design and draft electrical engineering construction plans for data centers and other high-profile commercial construction projects. Prior experience with electrical drafting work is preferred but we will also consider candidates with mechanical, plumbing, structural, or architectural backgrounds. Responsibilities
- Develop, draft, and publish electrical construction documents for data centers and high-profile commercial projects.
- Perform drafting work under the direction of project managers and engineers, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines.
- Create and maintain company-specific AutoCAD standards and technical details.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve design challenges and improve drafting processes.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Support project documentation, including design revisions, as-built drawings, and technical submittals.
- Assist in the integration of Revit models and BIM coordination when applicable.
Requirements
- Experience as an electrical designer/drafter.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Ability to work in a team environment with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be motivated by deadlines, and possess the ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
- Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction principles preferred.
Pay
The pay range for this position varies by location as follows:
- Virginia: $65,600–$84,100
- Washington: $68,800–$88,200
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs.
