Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support electrical engineering projects.
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Afford assistance in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Afford assistance in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
  • Cook with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
  • Afford assistance in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
  • Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating to support engineering projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications

  • Successful history of collaboration and teaming with electrical contractors on Design-Build projects or other alternate project delivery methods is preferred.
  • Experience in the built environment and/or in-depth knowledge of construction processes.
  • Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting systems, and fire alarms systems for the built environment.
  • Strong knowledge of higher education, science & technology, commercial workplace and/or industrial market sectors including architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers operating within these markets.
  • Ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects.
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Functional knowledge of recent versions of Revit MEP and Navisworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of AGI 32 (or equivalent), load analysis software, Microsoft Office, Newforma Project Center (or equivalent data management software) and Bluebeam.
  • Periodic travel may be required to meet engagement/client requirements may include regional or national based on the contracted requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of three years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
