About the role
MERRICK is seeking an experienced CAD designer to join our team. We are a leading manufacturer of material handling products with a strong commitment to innovation and quality.
Responsibilities
- Generate initial electrical drawings from customer project files using CAD software.
- Revise drawings after engineering review and submit for approval.
- Design or assist in designing Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphics and associated programming according to customer specifications.
- Communicate with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve issues.
- Support the manufacturing process by ensuring product quality and assisting with testing and shipping.
- Support customer service by delivering solutions to customer inquiries.
- Reduce rework by thoroughly checking completed electrical designs before engineering review.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in electrical or electronics engineering or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Minimum of three years industrial experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.

Qualifications
- Education and/or experience: Associates Degree in electrical or electronics engineering or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and minimum of three years industrial experience.
- Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; ability to use AutoCAD R18 or greater and Microsoft Office applications.
- Reasoning ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
- Computer and software skills: Knowledgeable of industrial electricity and electronics.
