Electrical Designer

FTI is currently seeking an Electrical Designer to join the Product Engineering team in Menasha, WI.

Responsibilities

• Support the Design Engineering team using CAD tools to design and create electro-mechanical parts and assemblies for products used in renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.
• Work with other disciplines to validate product design, including input on design requirements, evaluation of solutions, presentation of concepts, and recommendation of final solutions.
• Manage material selection, component costing, fabrication, assembly processes, product verification and validation, and design trade-offs.
• Create 2D prints and 3D models for piece part components and assemblies, and assemble documentation.
• Understand and apply drawing standards, change notice practices, and bill of material creation.
• Provide technical assistance for prototypes, pilot builds, and production support.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate components into higher-level system designs.
• Support service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Electrical Design or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years product design experience
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
• Experience in electrical design and drafting
• Experience with electrical components and equipment
• Experience in bill of material creation and change notice processes

Preferred Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience
• Experience in large 3D assemblies
• Experience in electrical components and assemblies, electrical schematic generation, electrical harnesses, bus bar design, and power transmission principles
• Experience with casting, machining, roto-molded components, or fiber-reinforced plastic components
• Experience in electrical components and equipment

Schedule

This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday-Friday.

The role requires work to be done Onsite from our Menasha, WI office. Menasha, WI offers an excellent quality of life with a low cost of living, short commute times, and a strong sense of community.
