About the role
The Electrical Designer will work in the Y-12 Division Managed Design Engineering Field Design Support group. Responsibilities include drafting in Bentley MicroStation, preparing data sheets, specifications, and walkdown reports, and working in concert with electrical engineers and other CAD drafters.
Requirements
- Associates or higher degree in a technical field and a minimum of six years of related experience or a high school diploma and 13 or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution and industrial control systems.
- Experience with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A.
- Must be able to support construction and operational activities related to design outputs.
- Must be able to perform field walkdowns in radiological contaminated areas.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must pass successful drug screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
- Requires a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
