Electrical Designer 1 - Nuclear Power
About the role
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home. You will utilize and expand your drafting skills while working in a multi‑disciplined team environment with other designers and/or engineers in the preparation of design drawings based on design input. You will apply your computer‑aided drafting skills and receive hands‑on training in 3D design software environments. You will create master sketches to scale showing the relation of proposed installations to existing facilities, including exact specifications and dimensions. You may accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for design projects. While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain your drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made. Join Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group, a trusted leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing since 1954, working on small modular reactors, advanced reactor technology, first‑of‑a‑kind commercial reactor restart projects, life extensions, digital modernization, coal‑to‑nuclear conversion initiatives, and international nuclear new‑build projects.

We need to ensure we didn't include any boilerplate like "We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position." That's a qualification about sponsorship; maybe we should include it under Requirements as a note. It's substantive. Let's add a line: "We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position." Add to Requirements list. Also we might need to include "Technology & Innovation Sargent & Lundy values the appropriate use of technology..." That's more about company values; could be part of About the role or Skills. We already have Skills about AI etc. Could incorporate that paragraph into Skills or About the role. Let's add a bullet under Skills: "Demonstrate interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to the role." That's from the paragraph. Also the paragraph about "Employees remain accountable for their work and are expected to apply appropriate professional judgment and review when using technology-assisted tools." Could be included as a bullet under Skills. Let's incorporate. Thus Skills bullets: - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models. - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design. - Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued where relevant but not required. - Demonstrate interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to the role. - Apply appropriate professional judgment and review when using technology‑assisted tools; remain accountable for work. Now check for any leftover substantive info not captured: - "This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your drafting skills, while working in a multi-disciplined team environment with other designers and/or engineers in the preparation of design drawings based on design input" captured. - "You will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting skills, while receiving hands-on training in 3D design software environments." captured. - "You will be involved in creating master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions" captured. - "You may accompany and assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project" captured. - "While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain your drawings so appropriate design adjustments can be made" captured. - "Qualifications We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position." captured. - "An Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience" captured. - "Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e MicroStation)" captured. - "Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer" captured. - "Knowledge in MicroStation" captured. - "Ability to
