Electrical Design Engineer SME-Nuclear # 26-15445

Responsibilities

• Develop design packages
• Prepare conceptual designs and specifications for bidding purposes
• Evaluate alternatives
• Provide technical support during implementation
• Develop setpoints
• Coordinate design efforts with selected vendors, architects-engineers, and designers
• Conduct design package reviews
• Perform electrical design work for projects within the engineering organization
• Support other project teams as needed

Requirements

• Current/past qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer under an INPO Accredited Program within the past five years
• Qualified as a Modification Engineer to work independently in the past five years
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent work experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks and subject to the site’s Fitness for Duty Program)
• Strong oral/written communication skills within a professional environment
• Skilled in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
• Able to work in a team environment

Qualifications

• 15 years discipline experience and unique SME skills
• Electrical engineering experience at a Client’s Nuclear Plant
• Experience in the 10CFR50.59 with respect to designing modifications to a nuclear facility
• Knowledge of Passport or Consolidated Asset Suite for design and work order development
