Electrical Design Engineer - Power & Controls

About the role

The successful candidate will be joining the Central Engineering team in Ann Arbor, responsible for designing, detailing, and testing new electrical sub-systems for KLA tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete design process from requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, to conducting various analysis (such as circuit, timing, thermal/cooling, electrical loads)
• Thermal/cooling analysis and control
• PLC programming
• Conceptual and detailed design using design tools (OrCAD, AutoCAD)
• detail drawings, design review presentations
• Procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' relevant experience
• PLC Programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
• Communication fieldbus protocols (e.g. CAN bus)
• Knowledge of controls (Thermal/Cooling modeling, Control and Safety circuits, PID Tuning)
• MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW
• Solid understanding of OrCAD, AutoCAD (CREO is a plus!)
• Strong problem analysis and solving capability
• Ability to diagnose problems and hands-on troubleshooting experience for complex electrical subsystems
• Enjoy working on groundbreaking technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
