About the role
This role is key to supporting the design and development of cutting-edge manufacturing and research facilities. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and innovative electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical design calculations, layouts, and construction documents
- Produce technical query documents for design clarification
- Support engineering studies and facility assessments
- Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, process, and automation engineers
- Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, UPS, and security integration
- Participate in internal design reviews and vendor coordination
- Review shop drawings and submittals for electrical systems and equipment
- Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and pharmaceutical industry best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Proficiency in REVIT; AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Experience with electrical system design for manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with electrical analysis software (SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar)
- Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, and local codes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to travel occasionally (10–20%)
- PE license preferred but not required
- Life Sciences industry experience preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom and critical utility electrical systems
- Knowledge of FDA-regulated facility design and ISPE Baseline Guides
- Familiarity with electrical analysis software (SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar)
- Experience with hazardous area electrical systems (Class I, Division 1/2)
- Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices
- Experience with cold storage and controlled temperature environments

$90,000 – $105,000 annually
