Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Syracuse, NY

About the role

An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work alongside our engineering leadership. This role offers opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential, and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities, and education markets.

Responsibilities

• Drafting of electrical construction drawings including details, plans, and sections.
• Electrical load and energy calculations.
• Design of electrical power and lighting systems.
• Design of fire alarm systems.
• Selection of electrical equipment.
• Coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design.
• Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Participate in developing details, equipment schedules, and specifications.
• Research and assess building performance and other regulations.
• Contribute to design discussions and carry design concepts through to project drawings.
• Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies.
• Coordinate and communicate with other team members.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting.
• Minimum 8 years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm.
• Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff.
• PE license not required but a plus.
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required.

Pay

$65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
