About the role

Plan, design, and develop electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components for premium quality laundry products and services. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary Sustaining Engineering team aligned closely with an internal customer group.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical sub-systems and components to meet project needs.
  • Write detailed design specifications, develop test plans, and test specifications for evaluating electrical components and sub-systems (e.g., motors, transformers, contactors, drives, relays, switches, heaters, and sensors).
  • Set up and describe test specifications for electrical and electronic controls.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and in-house colleagues on the development of sub-systems and components.
  • Design sub-systems and components to meet marketing specifications and regulatory agency requirements, keeping the full system design in mind.
  • Support production as needed, work on quality improvements (QI’s), continuous improvements (CI’s), and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 0-2 years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Motor drive experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of engineering design software and equipment.
  • Able to write technical reports and complete documentation within required timeframes.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function calmly in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining awareness of larger project goals and outcomes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to be hands-on.

Physical Requirements

  • Position involves sitting for long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, and bending.
  • Capable of light lifting, moving, and carrying of items.
