- Develop Data Sheets for Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Develop Data Sheets for Turbine Driven Electrical Generators
- Develop Data Sheets for Turbine Driven Electrical Compressors
- Develop Data Sheets for Medium Voltage Power Transformers
- Develop Data Sheets for Medium Voltage Motors
- Develop Data Sheets for Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives
- Develop Instrument Index, instrument tag numbers, service descriptions, line numbers etc.
- Develop Control System alarm set points
- Develop Control System Design Philosophy
- Develop instrument data sheets for: Critical Service Control Valves
- Metering and Custody Transfer Specifications
- Develop project Risk Register, Framing Plan, RACI chart, project Design Discussion, Design
- Develop Cost Time Resource estimates (man-hour and project cost estimates) for new projects in support of company sales department
- Develop Electrical Area Classifications
- Develop Complex Control Schematic diagrams (e.g. Switchgear/Generator)
- Develop One Line Diagrams
- Develop Three Line Diagrams
- Perform Transient Electrical System Studies (Transient Stability, Motor Starting)
- Develop power and control building arrangement drawings
- Facilitates SAT Review specifications for Arc Resistant Power Distribution Equipment
- Reviews specifications for Power Distribution Buildings
- Reviews specifications for Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Reviews specifications for Turbine Driven Electrical Generators
- Reviews specifications for Turbine Driven Electrical Compressors
- Reviews specifications for Medium Voltage Power Transformers
- Reviews specifications for Medium Motors
- Reviews specifications for Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives
- Reviews specifications for Medium Voltage Power Distribution Equipment
- Determine project status and deliverables and report progress updates
- Cover coordination with other E&I engineers, drafting department, provide sketches and review drawings are in sync with project requirements
- Cover coordination with other disciplines (engineers, technicians, designers, drafters) to insure the integrated design deliverables meet project requirements
- Participate in project HAZID and HAZOP meetings performing a structured and systematic examination of planned or existing process or operation
- Survey client facilities and installations and to develop design strategy and/or recommend alternatives or solutions to client
- Basis and Constructability review meetings MV-Switchgear and MV-MCC
- Understands and Applies ABS requirements
- Understands and Applies USCG/CFR requirements
- Sizing and Calculations for: Critical Service Control Valves
- Design cable and conduit schedule for power systems
- Design power and instrument cable tray plans, section and details
- Prepare Safe Charts
- Review vendor control system packages based on DCS systems
- Develop Technical Specifications, RFQ (Request for Quote), Vendor Data Requirement (VDR) Inspection Matrix (IM) documents for vendor packages and performed bid tab analysis and recommending equipment or instruments
- Participates in field engineering teams during construction, test and commissioning
- Perform AC & DC cable sizing
- Perform Duct Bank sizing
- Participates in Startup Activities
- Review interdisciplinary data
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Five (5) or more years demonstrated experience designing and implementing electrical power generation and distribution systems for offshore oil and gas industry, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing, or refining required
- Demonstrated experience working within project centered multi-discipline teams
- Demonstrated experience preparing project cost estimates
- Demonstrated experience preparing specifications for procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of electrical generation, distribution, rotating, communication and control equipment such as generator sets, variable frequency drives, low voltage and medium voltage motor control systems and switchgear, and integrated motor control center buildings, distributed control systems, PLC panels, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate portions of ANSI/NEMA/NFPA/API/UL/IEEE codes and standards
- Demonstrated experience leading factory acceptance testing of package equipment
- Demonstrated experience providing engineering support to construction, testing, commissioning and startup of electrical facilities
- Capability and availability to make offshore and client site trips as well as other domestic travel as required
