About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controls & Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this hands-on position, you'll assist with the design, programming, and implementation of automated control systems for industrial clients, ideal for someone eager to grow in the field of automation and industrial controls.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and drafting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Develop and test PLC and HMI programs under guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and I/O lists for projects.
- Perform basic system configuration and documentation.
- Participate in assembly, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and refine systems during deployment.
- Help prepare and maintain project documentation and manuals.
- Provide on-site support under supervision when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
- Basic understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition).
- Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel occasionally for site installations or client meetings.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for industrial automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience in controls or automation engineering.
- Familiarity with control hardware: sensors, relays, VFDs, motor starters, and safety devices.
- Understanding of basic troubleshooting methods for electrical systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, UL508A, or other relevant standards.
