Job Summary

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is currently searching for an Electrical/Computer Engineer to join the Ocean Systems Lab within the Applied Ocean Physics & Engineering Department. Join our group designing underwater communications systems for robotic applications. Essential Functions & Duties

  • Embedded systems development in C++ or Python
  • Ability to read schematics and use oscilloscopes for signal tracing and troubleshooting
  • Timing General communications
  • Wiring, cabling and other fields
  • Willing and able to support at-sea and field deployments

Additional Job Requirements

  • Salary Range: Engineer I: $70,963 - $91,796 Engineer II: $89,408 - $116,127
  • The salary range provided for this position reflects the expected minimum and maximum base pay for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market conditions.
  • In addition to base salary, eligible employees also receive a comprehensive benefits package.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical duties for this position include but are not limited to, ability to lift less than 25-50lbs independently, 3 times per day; carry 25-50lbs, 4 times per day.
  • Visual abilities to include peripheral, depth perception, and ability to distinguish basic colors.
  • Hearing requirements include the ability to hear and respond to instructions, communicate effectively in loud areas (pier/dock, warehouse).
  • Willingness and ability for Sea Duty

Citizen, Able to receive Security Clearance

Travel

Travel Up to 2 months per year
