Why You Will Love this Job

The Electrical CAD Designer will work alongside a team of engineers. You'll be responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. As a vital member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that focus on building electrical design, including lighting, power and systems coordination within a wide range of power plant technologies such as; gas powered generation, biomass, municipal waste, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind and solar.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of electrical one-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, cable routing and knowledge of the NEC.
• Substation physical layout and electrical clearances.
• Ability to work in a team environment, and to coordinate the work of various engineering disciplines and contractors to complete an integrated project.
• Mastery of detailing skills and basic knowledge in design, calculations, and design systems.
• Advanced understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Advanced ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings.
• Routinely uses higher-level commands, time saving programs and routines.
• Drafting on industrial projects that include one-line, three-line, schematic, and general arrangement drawings.
• Drafter responsibilities include utilizing and following specific codes (NEC), reference material, CAD standards, and the ability to use application software effectively with a high level of detail and accuracy.
• The ability to interpret engineer’s notes and sketches and create detailed working drawings will be necessary.
• The successful candidate must also be able to multi-task and work under strict deadlines.
