About the role

We are seeking a Digital Design Lead to join our team at HDR. This role involves working with Electrical Engineers and EITs to create detailed electrical designs for facilities, performing basic system calculations, drawing production, and some master specification editing. You will also perform assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under the supervision of a licensed professional, direct the efforts of less-experienced BIM Technicians as needed, and perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Electrical Engineers and EITs to create detailed electrical designs for facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Perform basic system calculations
  • Draw production
  • Some master specification editing
  • Direct the efforts of less-experienced BIM Technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential

Qualifications
