About the Role

The Electrical BIM Technician will be a vital part of our team, supporting electrical design and model coordination for diverse construction and infrastructure projects. This role involves creating and managing BIM models, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in model coordination meetings to ensure seamless project integration. The position requires proficiency in HV/LV electrical design and expertise in tools like Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage accurate 2D and 3D electrical BIM models using Revit.
  • Support the electrical design of HV and LV systems, including primary and secondary schematic development.
  • Coordinate BIM models across multiple disciplines within a federated environment.
  • Lead model coordination meetings, identify and resolve design clashes (e.g., using Navisworks or equivalent tools).
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and design teams to meet project timelines.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements, including potential use of automation or scripting tools.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Experience in electrical design, including HV and LV systems and primary/secondary schematics.
  • Experience working with or contributing to federated BIM models and using common data environments (CDEs).
  • Confident leading and contributing to model coordination meetings.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with modeling in Revit and BIM execution planning.
  • Experience in electrical and instrumentation technologies at a commercial and/or industrial level.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent in a construction-related field preferred.
  • Certifications in CAD/BIM software and BIM processes (preferred but not essential).

Software & Technology

  • Experience using Navisworks or similar coordination tools.
  • Exposure to or interest in scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Dynamo, VBA).
  • High-level skills in MS Office applications, document management tools, and issue tracking systems.

Work Environment

This is a global, office-based position with frequent remote communications with team members worldwide. Occasional longer workdays, including evenings and weekends, may be required. Travel for business may be necessary from time to time.
