Key Areas of Responsibility
- Works with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions to diagnose and service equipment.
- Diagnoses and isolates Advanced Automation equipment system and systems.
- Adjusts and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electrical components.
- Completes quality electrical and electronic maintenance preventive and corrective work.
- Specializes in upgrading and programing Advanced Automation Systems.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes complex problems and implements remedies in a safe manner. This includes control issues with any drive or PLC components as well as PLC program modifications and troubleshooting.
- Adapts to new and changing technology in the electronic field.
- Must be willing and able to teach some of the Advanced Automation skills to other Electronics Personnel.
- Must function effectively under deadline and breakdown pressures and meet the physical demands of the job.
- Must have the initiative and be able to work with maintenance group to troubleshooting and repairing any in-house electrical and electronic automated equipment down to the component level.
- Read blueprints and vendor instructions to determine repair procedures.
- Remove, repair, or replace defective electronic components to minimize technical downtime.
- Utilize their electrical/arc flash rated tools and participate in the Nestle tool reimbursement program (allowance up to $170).
- Design, draw, assemble and install electronic components.
- Program various electronic equipment to meet needs of production.
- Manage assigned workload on a daily basis.
- Maintain all safety warning postings and identification tags on equipment.
- Other duties assigned.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
Skills/Qualifications
- Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge of Alan Bradley hardware/software required.
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware/software is a plus.
- Knowledge of HMI programming.
- Experience in Panelview, FactoryTalk ME, FactoryTalk SE, Historian and Asset Center.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Previous electronic maintenance experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Advanced computer and PLC programming skills in RS logix5000.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the willingness and initiative to learn.
- Must observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- Must follow safety rules and procedures.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week with some daily overtime and weekend overtime.
- Must be able to train others effectively and assist in their development.
- Understands Industrial Automation Networks: DH+, Controlnet, Device Level Ring, Ethernet\IP, Modbus TCP.
- Ability to work with Stratix switch or Other Ethernet based infrastructure.
- Have good communications skills.
- High School Diploma/GED Required.
