Job Summary
About the Role
The Electrical Apprentice coordinates and oversees the maintenance and repair of electrical systems in an aggregate plant, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues
- Supervise electrical technicians and contractors
- Manage spare parts inventory
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations (e.g., NEC, MSHA, OSHA)
- Document all maintenance activities
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an Apprenticeship Program or 4+ years of training in the electrical field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the electrical trade laying out work and organizing jobs
- Experience in the mining industry preferred
Qualifications
- Ability to interact with plant personnel and different levels of management
- Demonstrable experience interpreting pertinent electrical codes (NEC, NESC, & MSHA)
- Valid drivers license and ability to drive a pickup truck
- Ability to lift 40lbs and occasionally lift heavier items
- Ability to work in a very stressful, deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected situations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Project management skills
- Interpretation of technical documents like schematics and electrical codes
