Apprentice Electricians in Pecos, TX – Full Time
About the role
The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for knowing and following appropriate safety procedures and must have construction experience within the Industrial Construction Project Environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs miscellaneous tasks that require manually moving materials, tools, and equipment and using hand tools and power tools.
- Performs work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
- Communicates with various personnel concerning initiation of maintenance.
- Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or designated representative.
- Works in operating facilities and observes and abides by additional safety policies and procedures.
- Performs wire pulling.
- Acts as spotter for Equipment Operators.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6–47 months of experience in the industrial, electrical construction environment.
- Texas State Apprentice License.
- Ability to pass drug test as mandated by Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
- Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
- Must own Fire Resistant Clothing (FRC).
- Must be clean shaven.
Safety Requirements
- On a continual basis, promotes an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all company policies.
- Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
- Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Takes needed safety precautions in performing the work.
Physical Requirements
- Manual and finger dexterity.
- Eye-hand coordination.
- Depth perception.
- Far visual acuity (ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm’s reach).
- Ability to see small detail.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting.
- Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to reach above head while sitting or standing.
- Ability to reach below knees while standing.
- Ability to stoop or kneel.
- Ability to work 60 or more hours each week.
- Ability to work at heights a minimum of 20 ft.
