Electrical Apprentice

An Electrical Apprentice (Year 1-Year 4) works under the supervision of licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the field, performing a variety of electrical tasks including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair wiring systems, electrical fixtures, and equipment
• Install conduits including bending, cutting, and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel to hold electrical wires and cables
• Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed
• Install conductors, terminating (SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLC’s, instruments, and junction boxes)
• Learn to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, blueprints, and electrical codes
• Maintain a good basic understanding of NFPA70E and the NEC

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or willing to enroll once hired (PCL will sponsor you)
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration and learning
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rugged terrain and construction sites
• Capable of performing tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods

Pay

• Base hourly rate: $23.63 - $32.00 depending on experience
• Project incentive pay: $10.00/hour for all hours worked on the project
• Per diem: $178 per day worked for eligible travelers (restrictions apply)

Schedule

Monday–Saturday, 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).
