About the role
An Electrical Apprentice (Year 1 & Year 3) works under the supervision of licensed electricians to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the field. This position is responsible for performing a variety of electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Positions are available in Pecos, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair wiring systems, electrical fixtures, and equipment.
- Install conduits, including bending, cutting, and threading up to 4-inch diameter rigid steel to hold electrical wires and cables.
- Replace conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
- Install conductors and terminate connections (SES, panel boards, motor controls, PLCs, instruments, and junction boxes).
- Learn to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, blueprints, and electrical codes.
- Maintain a good basic understanding of NFPA70E and the NEC.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or willing to enroll once hired (PCL will sponsor you).
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration and learning.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rugged terrain and construction sites.
- Capable of performing tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Pay
$23.63/hour base pay + $10.00/hour project incentive pay for all hours worked on the project.
For eligible travelers, a per diem of $178 per day worked is available (restrictions apply).
Schedule
Monday–Saturday, 10 hours per day (6/10 schedule).
