About the role

A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and controls. This role drives reliability, modernization, and safe operation across multiple production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff
  • Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems
  • Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture
  • Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards
  • Cook up with contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers
  • Support reliability improvements, root‑cause analysis, and change management

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Required: 8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering
  • Required: 3+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Required: Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
  • Required: Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks
  • Required: Proven success leading engineering teams and projects
  • PREFERRED:
  • PREFERRED: PE license
  • PREFERRED: Master's degree in engineering or business
  • PREFERRED: Experience in industrial manufacturing or process industries
  • PREFERRED: PMP or automation/reliability certifications
  • PREFERRED: Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 technologies
