About the role
A growing industrial manufacturer seeks an Electrical & Control Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for plant electrical systems, automation, instrumentation, and controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop electrical, controls, and automation engineering staff
- Oversee electrical distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and automation systems
- Direct PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial network architecture
- Approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
- Manage capital projects from concept through commissioning
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, IEEE standards
- Cook up with contractors, integrators, and equipment suppliers
- Support reliability improvements, root-cause analysis, and change management
Qualifications
- Required:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Required: 8+ years in electrical, automation, or control systems engineering
- Required: 3+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Required: Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Required: Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and industrial networks
- Required: Proven success leading engineering teams and projects
- PREFERRED:
- PREFERRED: PE license
- PREFERRED: Master's degree in engineering or business
- PREFERRED: Experience in industrial manufacturing or process industries
- PREFERRED: PMP or automation/reliability certifications
- PREFERRED: Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and Industry 4.0 technologies
