About the role

The Electrical and Automation Technician is responsible for the daily electrical support for half of the plant daily (East/West) and at times the whole plant. Additional duties include preventative maintenance and electrical support for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoys teamwork with all departments. Candidates will be chosen based on electrical competence and previous experience. Individuals will need strong time management skills, be self-motivated and self-directed to complete in-plant electrical projects/repairs with minimal assistance. Also utilize equipment logs and reports, and data from computerized maintenance systems to track equipment reliability and manage time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily electrical support for half of the plant (East/West) and occasionally the entire plant.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Support capital and extraordinary maintenance projects with electrical expertise.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and automation equipment.
  • Utilize equipment logs, reports, and computerized maintenance systems to track equipment reliability.
  • Manage time effectively to complete in-plant electrical projects and repairs with minimal assistance.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field or electrical Industrial or E&I Journeyman is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and automation.
  • Experience with PLCs: Pico, Micro, CompactLogix, SLC500, ControlLogix, GuardLogix, and PLC-5.
  • Experience with Servos: Ultra, Kinetix (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with Drives: 160, 1305, 1336, Powerflex Drives.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Strong computer skills including familiarity with: Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, iPad, Teams, and SharePoint.

Skills

  • Proficiency with electrical testing devices such as:
    • Multimeters: AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHMs, frequency, and min/max readings.
    • IR Camera: Take images and review them with Fluke software.
    • Calibration equipment: Calibration tester, dry blocks, etc.
    • Oscilloscope: AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHMs, frequency, and min/max readings (preferred but not required).
    • Power Logger: AC connections (preferred but not required).

Pay

$42.00 per hour

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule.
  • No rotating shifts.
